The project

With the support of Fondazione AEM, Liter Of Light Italia has designed and completed, in the period between August 9th 2015 and December 21st 2015, the international project called SENEGAL 2015.

The project led to the installation of 100 StreetLights for the public lighting of the Sinou Mbarik rural community and 20 portable lights used by the women association from the same community.

Sinou Mbarik is a community of 700 inhabitants located in the Thiès region, 120 km away from the capital Dakar and just 2 km from the nearby town Meckhè.

The creation of the electronic circuits was carried out in two phases: the first during meetings with the students of the “IIS Severi Correnti” High School of Milan at the “House of the Energy and Environment” of the AEM Foundation and the second during the training workshops with the young people and women of the Senegalese community.

The assembly of the “StreetLights” was carried out in collaboration with the students of the community, three of them trained to be able to repair and recreate the installed technology.
